Privacy Policy

Account information: Name, email, phone, date of birth, and profile photo.

Identity verification: Government-issued ID documents are stored securely and accessed only during verification.

Location data: Address and GPS coordinates for matching and proximity verification.

Usage data: Device information, IP address, browser type, and platform interaction data.

Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. Helpr does not store full card numbers.

Communications: In-app messages are stored for coordination and dispute resolution.

To match you with jobs, process payments, and facilitate communication between posters and Helprs.

To verify identities, prevent fraud, enforce community guidelines, and resolve disputes.

To send job updates, payment confirmations, and important account alerts via push and email.

To analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, and develop new features that serve our Louisiana community.

Before and after photos from a job may be used on our website, social media and ads to show what Helprs do, only when both the poster and the Helpr allow it. We crop or blur faces, house numbers, street signs, license plates and anything that shows where you live, and never name you without asking. Turn off “Let Helpr share my job photos” in Settings to stop future use.

Your first name, profile photo, ratings, and reviews are visible to other neighbors. Full contact details are only shared after a job is confirmed.

Stripe processes all payments and identity verification securely under their own privacy policy.

We use a small set of trusted vendors to run Helpr. Each only receives the data it needs for its function, under its own privacy policy:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Stripe — payments, payouts, and identity verification.
• Apple — push-notification delivery (APNs).
• Apple Maps (MapKit JS) — address search and maps: the address text you type and the location you share.
• OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) — turning an address or your current location into map coordinates.
• Anthropic (Claude) — the job details you give the AI job builder, to draft your post, and the photos and words of a Declutter listing (and room photos when you're moving out), to draft and check the listing.
• Resend — email delivery: your email address and the content of the emails we send you.
• Twilio — text-message delivery, only if you turn on text alerts: your mobile number and the alert text.
• PostHog — privacy-respecting product analytics.
• Sentry — crash and error monitoring.
• Cloudflare (Turnstile) — bot protection on sign-up, sign-in and password reset; sees browser and IP signals.

We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

We never sell your personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

If you choose to get text alerts from Louisiana Helpr, we use your mobile number only to send the alerts you asked for. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. That covers your mobile number, and affiliates as well as third parties. Our texting provider (Twilio) processes the number only to deliver our texts. Reply STOP to stop at any time.

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication, and role-based access controls.

ID documents are stored in private, encrypted storage buckets accessible only to authorized verification personnel.

In-app messages are monitored to prevent sharing of personal contact information to keep transactions safe on the platform.

Access: View all your personal data through your profile settings.

Correction: Update your profile information at any time.

Deletion: Permanently delete your account and personal data yourself from Profile settings — it takes effect immediately. Financial and tax records we're legally required to keep are retained; everything else is removed.

Data portability: Download a complete copy of your data (profile, jobs, applications, reviews) as a machine-readable JSON file with Download your data below.
